On Friday, August 30, with various government representatives in attendance, Angus announced the construction of 1,001 affordable housing units, secured by over $193.5 million in financial assistance from the Société d’habitation du Québec (SHQ) under its new qualified developer program.

Exciting news! Among the 1,001 affordable units announced, 352 will be designed and built at Technopôle Angus by the Société de développement Angus (SDA). Through these projects, the SDA will leverage its real estate expertise to address the current housing crisis by launching significant initiatives that meet the local community’s needs.

The SDA seeks to alleviate this crisis by providing quality units that can serve as a genuine alternative to home ownership, enabling various households to envision their future while enjoying long-term housing security where they can create a true sense of home.

Three Housing Projects

The SDA will be carrying out three large-scale, affordable housing projects. The first will be in Montreal’s Technopôle Angus (352 units), the second at the Louvain Eco-district (325 units), and the third in Rimouski (324 units). Each project will include one-room, two-room, and three-room units, with sizes of up to 1,130 ft².
